Nancy Sprick Page
Nancy moved to Glenwood Springs in 1959 with her parents and numerous siblings and has lived in the area most of the time since. She loves the mountains, the pool and skiing at Sunlight Mountain Resort.
After assorted jobs, Nancy found her true calling in 1992, when she began to learn the art of framing under the tutelage of long time valley framer Pat Winters. She has found that framing is a very creative and satisfying career, and that even after so many years, there is much to be learned, that every day, and every framing job, is different and that satisfying the needs and desires of her customers keeps life interesting.
Nancy enjoys sourcing and supplying artwork for commercial operations such as banks, car dealerships, hospitals and physicians and lawyers. It is challenging to find and frame just the right images. Nancy also specializes in framing antique photos and has developed a fairly extensive knowledge of treatment of them.
Nancy has been married to Carter since 1974, is the mother of Christopher and Adam and grandmother of Evan and Megan, the two most adorable children on the face of this earth. Just ask her!
Virginia (Ginny) Gera
In 1989, Ginny moved to the Roaring Fork Valley and fell in love with Glenwood Springs. It reminded her of Corry, the small western Pennsylvania town where she had lived as a young girl. She loves how the people in Glenwood Springs are interconnected. “My neighbor was my lawyer’s secretary and my son’s 1st grade teacher was my congressman’s sister!”
Ginny became active in the Glenwood community, volunteering at her children’s schools, helping out with their scout troops and sports teams and teaching Sunday school. She also took time to hone her needlework skills. She loves to knit, crochet, cross stitch and especially sew. Over the years she has entered dozens of items in the Garfield County Fair and won many ribbons, including Grand Reserve Champion.
When Ginny heard a local frame shop was looking for a picture framer she thought, “I can see myself doing that,” and talked to the manager, Nancy about the job. Nancy warned her, that on top of creative skills needed for framing, it also required a certain amount of technical prowess. Worried she might sound overqualified, Ginny meekly replied, “I have a degree in civil engineering.” She started work the following week.
“I love framing and consider myself very fortunate to be able to make a living doing something I love. I’m not going to become a millionaire doing this, but to take something someone holds dear and lovingly present and preserve it for them is priceless.”
